After snubbing Governor Johnson Sakajas’ Mombasa trip Nairobi Assembly Azimio MCAs went for a caucus in Ngong’ to stem up their strategy ahead of Assembly speaker elections.

The team met speaker aspirant Ken Ngondi in a day-long bonding that saw Azimio affiliate MCAs backing Ng’ondi.

Makongeni MCA Peter Imwatok who have been tasked with Azimio activities in the assembly told the media that the meeting at Ngong’ was to ensure Azimio sweeps all vital seats in the Assembly including speaker and crucial committees chairs.

“We led this team to Ngong’ to strategize on how we can scoop the speaker seat and other important sectorial committees…and let it be known that Sakaja was in Mombasa to strategize also on how he could grab the speaker seat…so we are up to these games ..another issue is that we are keeping vigil ahead of Supreme Court ruling.” Imwatok said.

“Our soldier was wounded and thats is Raila Odinga the part of agenda of this Ng’ong meeting was to ensure that we remain intact as we wait for the Supreme Court Verdict slated on Monday.” Ngei MCA Redson Otieno said.

On the hand Makina MCA Mary Masitza defended the meeting saying it was vital to caucus and discuss how they will champion the Azimio agenda.

“We must caucus and agree on certain issues that will steer our agenda as a coalition one of them is the speaker seat which remains top…” Masitza said.
