City businessman Mohamed Esmail Badrudini was yesterday arraigned in court over car theft charges.
The court heard that the businessman who deals with motorvehicles alledgly defrauded Peter Chomba Gitira some Sh800,000 by falsely pretending that he was in a position to sell him a motorvehicle, a fact he knew to be false.
He is said to have committed the offence on January 22 at Al’s pride showroom car yard off Othaya road in Kileleshwa area within Nairobi county.
He was arraigned alongside Irene Jepkemoi Koech and they together appeared before Senior principal magistrate Phillip Mutua when the matter came up for hearing.
In an exclusive CCTV footage that was showed in court, key moments how the car yard was used in the purported fraud was shown. The investigating officer testified on how the accused person conned the complainant.
A date of January has been set for a further hearing.
